Got it and upgraded. No crash or freeze on COD:mw2, just a server shut down between 6-9pm pst today. Having problems with on Punkbuster bf2 and 2142. What do I do?

All punkbuster issues gone. Everything works fine now. No more freezing. Sort of enjoy cod,mw2 even though I still die alot. See some of you soon.

Hey Fred,
Even though I'm not running window 7, what did you do to fix the pb problems w/ the bf games? I'm always getting the "pnkbstrb.exe didn't start" or "lost packets" errors with every bf game, and cod games too. Sucks having to play in servers w/o pb because of how many people out there playing with cheats.

My issue was something like PB Warning: Punkbuster restriction not allowing PunkbusterB.exe. I uninstalled pb.exe and downloaded latest version, 3.4 again and allowed my mcaffee virus program to allow bf2.exe and bf2142.exe. Everything is back. Hope this helps.

It could either be punkbuster issue, antivirus program or firewalls, too.

Does anyone know if i reformat to 7, will I need to go find my MW2 folder and back up my MP saved files before it gets wiped or Is everything located on Steam now? :tongue3:
